FAQ's
How long is each session?
Each session takes place over one hour; including a thorough warm up and cool down. However within each session, beginners will only be exercising for part of the time, with long recovery periods in between. On the other hand advanced participants will exercise almost continuously during a session.
Will I get muddy?
Believe it or not we do have Bootcampers who actually enjoy getting dirty, however most of the time they will be disappointed as each session is designed and adapted with the weather conditions in mind to ensure your enjoyment.
Can I take part even if I am completely unfit and/or overweight?
Of course – beginners start with us all the time. Providing there is no medical reason for your not to exercise, we will work with you to ensure you exercise safely and effectively. Once you have established a foundation, you will be encouraged to progress your fitness levels sensibly. Have a look at our testimonials. We divide all participants into appropriate fitness groups; red for beginners, yellow for intermediates and green for advanced. In addition your instructor will always tailor each session to suit those taking part.
Do I have to enrol after my trial session?
No – you are actively encouraged to think carefully before you subscribe. Most people will return because ‘what’s not to enjoy’, but occasionally the ‘odd’ person won’t come back. That’s no problem because we would rather know sooner than have a non-attending subscriber later on.
What if I’m ill or on holiday?
Your Boot Camp membership will allow you to attend a set number of times per week. However you can make up for any missed sessions by attending extra sessions within your membership period.
Can I attend other Boot Camp locations?
Regular subscribers can attend at any Matt Woods Boot Camp location – even if you’re on holiday!
How does registration for a free session work?
You can register for a free session on-line or print out and bring your completed free session form to a session of your choice. Ideally it is helpful if you can come along ten minutes before the appointed start time.
How do I enrol?
Once you have decided to subscribe you can either sign up on-line or do so at your next session.
Do I need to book my classes?
Once you have subscribed, you can attend any session anywhere in the UK. If you are travelling or visiting relatives or friends, why not try a class in another location. It’s a great way of meeting new like-minded people.
What should I wear and what else do I need to bring with me?
Just wear whatever you are comfortable in but do take account of the weather and that you might sometimes get dirty. A t-shirt or sweatshirt, jogging bottoms or leggings and trainers will do. In cold weather it’s best to wear a number of layers so that, as you warm up, you can take the outer one off.
Do I need to bring some water?
We recommend that you bring a bottle of water with you. During each session there will normally be at least one drinks break.
